In Sanskrit, the word means union. This is the most ancient holistic practice for an individual’s personal growth and development, known to man. It has been practiced for five thousand years and is a type of conditioning of the body and places importance on both strengthening the body and mind while motivating the spirit and is a belief and discipline.

Any man that practices Yoga is known as a Yogi, and any woman that practices Yoga is known as a Yogini. In practice this is an applied science of the body and mind and it is part of the six orthodox systems that make up Indian Philosophy. It is a vast subject and contains a great deal more than just sitting around in a lotus position just chanting along in unison.

Yoga is one of the best stress busters. Just the same as several other types of complementary therapies, one of the basic reasons why people that have cancer use it is because it really makes them feel good. It is widely suggested that it should be practiced in the morning before you take any food.

This ancient holistic system has many styles to it and some are given below: The practice of this yoga is meditation and methods that help in controlling the body, mind, energy and the senses. We also have Hatha Yoga which is an extremely wonderful system that is comprised of breath control and postures; it is the basis for all of the modern asana based discipline forms. Sahaja Yoga is an ideal way of meditation based on a practice called ‘Self Realization’ (Kundalini awakening) which will be present in every human being. Moksha hot yoga: This is therapeutic yoga that is a practiced in a special place with a temperature that is above the atmospheric temperature based on the traditional principles of yoga.
